Wish you were...

KATE VOEGELE (feat OTH cast) - WISH YOU WERE
I was true as the sky is blue
I couldn't soon say the same for you
So now I find denial in my eyes
I'm mesmerized by the picture that's in my mind
Tell me when I'll finally see your shallow heart
For what it is
Cause I don't want to keep on believing in illusions
I've seen your act
And I know all the facts
I'm still in love with who I wish you were
It ain't hard to see
Who you are underneath
I'm still in love with who I wish you were
And I wish you were here
I wish you were here

p.s : Love this song to bits... ^_^ Need guitar lesson a.s.a.p, hehhehe =P I wish someone with lots and lots of patience could teach me~ =D

Be careful what you wish for...

This book is actually a gift from my bff for my last year belated birthday... I had taken forever to finish it because the earlier chapters in this book really bored me to death... But boy, have I been mistaken... After I passed the first 50 pages, I'm totally hooked!!! I absolutely lovin' it!!! Thanks so much, girl... ^_^

Since this is the first Melissa Hill book I read, I didn't really have a high
expectation... I'm not really adventures when it comes to buying books... I only read books from authors that I'm familiar with to avoid any frustration when it didn't met my standard, hehhhe =P But once in a while, when I get extra money, I tried getting my hands on books from other authors as well... What really intrigued me with this book is how similar it is with another book that I've read before, The Reading Group by Elizabeth Noble...

It is about 3 different women, Rosie, Dara and Louise dilemma and wishes they have made along the way and how backfired their wish can be... Rosie, after the death of her husband, is at lost and unable to function but little by little she finally able to move on and enjoying her independence... Her children however, never let her live in peace... Both of them are only eager to used her for their own benefit and choose to disregard her feelings... She wish she can make them happy but is it worth it if it means that it will cost her happiness in return?
Dara, mid 30's successful carrier woman that still very much in love with her long lost love, Noah despite her recent marriage to Mark... Eventhough she still hung up on her ex, Dara decide to go ahead with marrying Mark due to the constant pressure from her mother and her desire to start a family of her own... Little that she know, after all the vow and promises, her old flame will come back into her life, leaving her torn between man that she used to love desperately and another man that she beginning to love...
Louise, is not always the skinny, popular and glamorous girl... In fact, she's far cry from that... Her life full of unlucky stroke of events and made her wish for a different kind of life... After getting hit by a car, she suddenly have a new life... A life that she will never dream of... She managed to lose her weights, getting noticed for the first time, have popular friends and living like the rich and famous... But everything have it's own price... She get too caught up in her new life and slowly losing herself...
The 3 women life is interwined with each other in more than one way but one incident have forced them to finally stand up for themselves and taking control of their own destiny... Although the ending is quite predictable, I have to give the author credit for keeping the suspense going throughout the story, hehhe =P Sometimes, our wish is not really as good as it may seems... More than often, we will wish that we never wish for it in the first place... My advice, just be grateful with what we already have because the best is yet to come... Have faith, guys... ^_^

Oxy doxy...

Happy Chinese New Year to all the chinese out there... ^_^ The things that I love the most about Chinese New Year are the angpow, oranges and fancy lion dance, hehhhe =P Too bad, I don't get any angpow la, hehhe =P Since KL is very lengang today, me and my lil' sis (un & syiqin) decided to hang out and wasting our time @ Pavillion...

Due to my almost broke situation T_T , we just spend on lunch and dessert... After that, we enjoying the wonderful decoration and taking few pictures... =P They have very gorgeous cherry blossom trees all over the place... So Japan-ish la, suki desu ^_^ they also have a huge Golden Ox display at the entrance as well... I'm not sure whether to call it an ox, bull or cow... aren't they all the same thing? whatever la, hehhhe =P It do look nasty and mean though... =_= What do you think?

Flower girls... ^_^

Which one is scarier? The ox or the guard? Hehhhe =D
The touch of luck... (at the tail? LOL =P)
Matador is M.I.A... ^_^

The Joke Is On Me...

I'm royally pissed at someone right now... I knew this is so gonna happened and I can't believe I actually thought this time its gonna be any different... After wasting all my time and effort, do I felt happy? appreciated? sooo NOT !!! should I just settling? I knew I deserved something better... And to think that I've been blinded and fooled again, really2 make me felt stupid !!! I need a diversion so badly or I would probably kill "the person"... argghhhh~ =_=

This is too much for me, I should have draw the line from the very start and show "the person"
who is in charge here !!! Nobody messed with me and get away with it !!! "The person" is so gonna pay for this... Be it today, tomorrow or next year... Whatever it takes, baby... I will paid them back (tenfold?, hehhhe =P) Enough about "the person", whose very name can turn me into my evil witch mode right now... This is so not me, I need to work on my anger management from now on la~ Bear with me, okey !!! ^_^ I need my chocolate~ =(

Uphill and above...

I can't get enough of One Tree Hill... Especially the 5th season, with the arrival of sweet Jamie Scott, hehhe ^_^ the first 4 seasons are quite dramatic but season 5 is more realistic and believable... Eventough I'm soooo over Chad Michael Murray like 3 years ago, I still think the show have a huge appeal with the new additional to the cast (the cute bartender@Tric =P) and fantastic soundtrack!!! The show continue their previous tradition by featuring lots of promising new artist and cool bands!!!
Lovin' it especially all the song in episode 8 (when Lucas proposing to Lindsey and broke Peyton's heart, sob2 T_T) Love 800x Kate Voegele - I Won't Disagree... Can't wait to watch the rest of the season!!! The season 6 already airing in U.S... I'm soooooo left behind la =( need to catch up with Gossip Girls and Grey's Anatomy some more... I'm so lazy lately, hehhehhe =D
Gambate Ayna!!! ^_^

The Road Not Taken...

People always perceived me as someone cold and heartless, which can possibly be true sometimes because of my cynical view towards life but it's actually a mask I wore to conceal the real me... I used to be very sensitive and fragile... But I learned my lesson at an early age that if you put your heart on the line, you will get burned in the process... It took years and years of practice to harden myself against all the heartbreak and devastation... I always play on the safe side to avoid the risk of getting hurt and shattered... I promised myself, I will never again let someone have that power over me...

But being emotionally coward will forever leave me with nothing but regret, so I slowly let myself open up again... I'm not sure if I'm doing the right thing but if I don't try, I will questioning my decision every single day... Could it be a blessing or turn out to be just another one of my countless mistakes? I'm full of uncertainty and second guessing everything... Will my heart remain intact after this? I wish I could tell...

Dress up & make up...

Yesterday, me & my sis, Tqah went for our very first makeover party,baby... =P I knew I'm a little bit over-age for this kind of thing, hehhhe =D But who cares, I deserved to indulge myself once in a while, rite? It was organized by 17 magz @ Dessert Bar, Solaris Mont Kiara... Which is so very hard to find~ The place is lovely but quite small to accommodate a large crowd... The food I guess suits me very well but Tqah doesn't really enjoying her meal for the very first time ever, hahhha =D (this is so very rare moment~ ^_^)

Dessert Bar @ Solaris Mont Kiara

My super fat lunch, hehhhe =P
The event started with our polaroid picture taken by 17 mag'z staff, all of them are very2 nice and sweet to us ^_^ Thanx guys !!! =P Next, we have decorating our own cupcakes session which make me & Tqah glee with excitement... ^_^ I'm always fond of cakes and to decorate them some more, make me go a little bit crazy, hahhha =P All the icing, sprinkles, glitters literally make us very2 sugar high, I'm lovin it so much!!! The event was hosted by lovely Xandria Ooi (she's so hilarious la... hehhhe =P)

Host of the day, Xandria Ooi... =P

I heart cupcakes ^_^

Icing on the cake???

The "masterpieces", hehhe... =P

After that, we have our makeup (Clinique), nails (Glitters) and hair (A Cut Above) done by the professionals... It's getting a little chaotic but definitely fun~ ^_^ Me and Tqah do our makeup first, followed by manicure and hair styling... Since I'm too lazy to touch up my tudung later, I decided to only do the makeup and nails... It's my loss actually because the stylists are so damn good, I can only watch other girls hair with my envy eyes, hehhhe =P

The Clinique makeup booth...

My not so obvious manicure... ^_^

Behind the scene of Tqah's Nicole Ritchie's hairdo, hehhe =P

Later, we were gathered again for some more games and the lucky draw... It must be my unlucky day because I didn't win anything la... I want the Sony Music stuff so bad~ sob2 =( Tqah however, get RM100 voucher from RipCurl, I'm jealous again, hahhha =P And the highlight of the day is the performance by Shila (One in a Million) with 3 songs... The sound system is quite loud and I can't properly enjoyed the show but I tell you what, this girl definitely can sing, hehhhe =P Maybe she need to work on her communication skills a little bit more~ And the party finally come to the end, Tqah took a few pictures of me with Xandria and we are ready to going back home... ^_^

Shila (One in a Million) with her Stacie Orrico's - Stuck cover...

It's me, posing with Xandria, hehhe =D

And not to forget all the freebies we bringing back home... Clinique 3 Steps Starter Kit, Clinique RM30 voucher, Clinique makeover coupon, A Cut Above & Glitters coupons, Croc's button, 17 magz merchandise and of course our polaroid pictures... Love it so much ^_^

More freebies for me, hehhhe =P

Run baby run...

I don't know exactly what have comes over me but when my lil sis, Un dared me to join their school merentas desa program, I just smiling and said of course I'll do it... (my pride is at stakes here, okey =P) And my mum, successfully convinced me lots of outsiders usually participate in this kind of activity... Because I'm in situation where I can't exactly back down, I waiting anxiously for "d-day" to come... The last time I do long distance run (by run I didn't exactly mean run, hehhe =P) is in my high school sports day in 1998 or 1999, which I didn't really finished because erm....I'm injured? Hehhhe =P (To tell you the truth, I'm not exactly injured that day, just swept away by the cute PBSM guy on duty, hahahha =D)

So, I'm not sure what to expect and going crazy looking for suitable shoes~ Finally, I decided to wear my dad oversize shoes, eventhough I knew I'll look weird but I guess I've to choose comfort over style for my run... After watching all the kids ready for the whistle, I starting to get cold feet because I just realized, I'm the only adult in this race... ^_^ And my effort to blend in with them seems worthless because my hot pink pants can be easily spotted miles away... (the teachers call me seluar merah, LOL) It's the only decent workout pants I own, by the way... =P

The girls I'm about to overtake, hahhha =D

I let all the kids have the head start to avoid being the center of attraction, hehhhe =D Of course, it is not a wise decision because now all of their attention are focused on me, arghhh~ Determined to complete the race, I just ignore all their stares and run like I've been chased by a demon ^_^ I managed to overtake about 20 kids before I settled for just walking... I'm still busting with energy and eager to show-off my achievement so far to Un... I continued my run and stumbled with Un classmate... She's still ahead of me but I believe I can catch up with her very2 soon... So, I run and run and motivated all the girls who looks like they want to gave up to run along with me...

Un trying to get ahead of me, hehhe =D I'm coming, girl ^_^

She finished all my water too~

Finally, I've seen Un in front of me... She absolutely surprised to see me get this far ahead and try to outwit me again, hehhhe =P This race ain't over yet, girl~ I run some more and flirted a little with the cute teacher on duty, hehhe ^_^ (I'm bored, okey =P) I managed to get a few snaps in between, and resumed my run to the finish line... I let Un go ahead of me (and the right to brag) and after almost 5 km walk/run, I finally done it!!! I felt happy, excited beyond belief and totally proud of my own accomplishment, hehhhe ^_^ I'll definitely do this again... (after I get myself a cute and functioning running shoes la, hehhhe =D)

My very2 exhausted and sweaty pose, hehhe ^_^

Can't hardly wait...

I'm so thrilled and ecstatic when I read from NST, that lots of my favorite books will be on the silver screen this year, hehhhe ^_^ I have mixed feeling about this actually because most of the "based on book" movies usually end up ruined and changed the story... I totally get that not every scenes can be adapt 100% from the books, but why they must change the ending is beyond my rational thinking...

It's like you write a totally new story... So what's the point in doing the movie version if you gonna change it anyway? They can just get other scripts or something... Why mess with perfection? (almost =P) I just hope they will do the justice to the books... Or they'll definitely have to answer to me and the rest of the book- fanatics, hehhhe =P This is the movies/books list, check it out guys...

Confessions Of A Shopaholic - Sophie Kinsella

MAC 2009

I heard that Hugh Dancy gonna played Luke in this movie... I think Luke role supposed to be fill in by someone manly enough like McSteamy right??? Not pretty boy like Hugh... He's just too cute to be Luke... Luke is more macho and charismatic man~ Isla will be perfect by the way, she's crazy like Becky, hehhe =P

He's Just Not That Into You - Greg Behrendt & Liz Tuccillo

APRIL 2009

Great book for someone in the dating scene, hehhe =P Just wondering how they gonna do the movie though, the book is full of tips and quite hard to interpret... Great cast they have here anyway, Jennifer Aniston. Scarlett Johannsen, Ben Affleck... Won't miss it for the world, hehhe ^_^

Angels & Demons - Dan Brown

MAY 2009

This is actually prequel to Da Vincci Code, which I prefer more than Da Vincci because it have quite twisted plot and full of mysteries... Tom Hanks will be Prof.Langdon again but this time around will be with different heroine if they do follow the book... Very scandalous read indeed~ hehhe =P

The Lovely Bones - Alice Sebold

DEC 2009

This is the old movie poster by the way, Ryan have been replaced by Mark Wahlberg for the main role, Jack Salmon... I personally think Ryan is more suitable for the role because he's pretty intense and have the tortured look... =D Mark is quite cold in his previous movies... Looks like I have to wait and see how it will turns out... ^_^

The Time Traveler's Wife - Audrey Niffenigger
DEC 2009

I'm in love with this book very2 much... I read it and weep like crazy, hehhe =P Eventhough the storyline is quite ridiculous, I think it's pretty imaginative, genius and sweet... And to top it off, they cast Rachel McAdams and Eric Bana too, hehhhe ^_^ I knew this will be another great movie, just like the book...

p.s : I also heard that The Alchemist by Paolo Coelho and Dear John by Nicholas Sparks will be coming to the theaters too (but the screening date are not confirm yet...) I can't hardly wait, hehhhe ^_^

Driving Miss Daisy...

After years and years just watching from the sidelines, today I finally gathered up my courage to drive again... And surprisingly, I'm really2 enjoying the ride, hehhhe ^_^ I drove to Semenyih and feasting my eyes on the very picturesque view... It's a very refreshing atmosphere and just what I need to kick start the 2009...

This year, I'm eager to get over all of my stupid paranoia and prove to everyone what I'm really capable of...
The "incident" has long since forgotten, and I guess it's the perfect time to move on... Even it still can make me cringe to think about it, I know it's all just a whisper in my head...

I need a little nudge sometimes to make me realized how coward I can be... I've let it haunts my life forever and I just can't figured out how to undo it... I'm not exactly meek and weak, I used to be daredevil, unpredictable and brave enough to challenge myself but I've let one moment of weakness ruled my judgement... And I really2 wish today will be the start of the new me, someone that I hope still exist inside of me... Just how am I gonna let it resurface back? Only god can tell...

The beauty of grotesque...

It's been a while since I shopped for books couple of months ago but this definitely worth the wait... I've read Out by Natsuo Kirino before and it definitely spook me out, hehhe =P So, I decided to get this one as well because I love the cover (looks like Gwen Stefani's Harajuku Girl) and also because I admire Natsuo's work too... It's actually the second Natsuo's book that has been translated to English... For those who are not familiar with Natsuo's writing, she's not your typical thriller/mystery author...

Her books focused more on the depth and the edginess of the character itself, not very much on the crime... But I must agreed it's definitely turn out brilliantly and
separate her from other author in the same genre such as Coben, Grisham & Patterson... So, if you expecting twisted plot, cringing bloody scene or murder mystery, you won't get it from this book... Most of us when ask to conjured images of the Japanese, we always associate them with integrity, politeness and kawaii-ness but I'm afraid this book will shattered your perception entirely because the Japanese are not really sugar, spice and everything nice... As one of the countries with higher suicide rate, they definitely have a very2 grotesque side underneath...

Okey, back to the story, it's actually narrated by unnamed character, whose entire life shadowed by her monstrously beautiful sister, Yuriko... Being the less beautiful, she grew up envious and harbored a deep hatred to her sister... Completely aware of her gift, Yuriko used her beauty viciously to get what her heart desired... Loving the power she have over men, Yuriko spent her teenage years experimenting and perfecting her technique...

Her sister however, struggling very hard in her studies in order to be accepted to the very prestigious school and to distance herself from Yuriko... At the new school, she have a difficult time to adapt because she can't fit with any of them and have to settle with Kazue as her friend, a very ambitious girl who kept being mocked by the others... But fate however intervened, Yuriko managed to get to the same school despite her bad results, by using her good looks as a ticket... And the sisterly rivals started again, but this time it changed their life forever...

20 years later, 2 prostitutes, Yuriko and Kazue are murdered with the same motives and suspect in Tokyo... Coincidentally or maybe not, the 2 of them are from the same school, and also happened to have something else in common, their relationship with the narrator... What exactly are the narrator roles that have influenced their choices of life? How evil and spiteful a person can be? It's a very2 engrossing read and believe me, you don't want to put it down, ever~ ^_^

Google Me Baby...

I'm not exactly a tech-savvy person, in fact I'm far cry from that... I would probably be the last person you look for in any technology crisis... I'm pretty much like my mum in this sort of thing, we are quite conservative in terms of technology and anything related to it, hehhe =P Gadget and all the rage doesn't really have any what-so-ever impact on me... If I still have my late Nokia 3310, (may it rest in peace ^_^) I knew I'll definitely using it till now, hehhhe =P But in the last 2 years, I became more appreciative of the existence of technology in this world... I can shop and sell at Ebay, get the latest gossips fresh from the internet, watch my favorite series online and so much more ^_^

I haven't fully utilised the power of internet and technology until last year after I read Baby Proof by Emily Giffin... Very2 fascinating book indeed, hehhe =P The main character, Claudia satisfied her mounting curiosity of her ex-husband current girlfriend by google-ing her name... This is apparently, news to me... (I'm so left behind, I know =P) Why I haven't think of anything like that before, it still amazed me,hehhehe ^_^

So, fueled by my so called new drive, I started my secret mission =P As all spies in the movies kept saying, information is power... which I totally agreed =) I managed to track down my long lost childhood friend, Z through internet... I'm so pleased with my achievement and eager to look for other people as well... Later on, after a very grueling effort, I found something about my first crush in standard 1, F... He is currently pursuing his study abroad... And to my greatest pleasure, he's no longer the cutest boy anymore... (serves him right for being so sombong to me back then) It's funny how much people can change, hehhhe =P

Because of my never ending curiousity, I track down my ex-bf as well...
And of course, they definitely not worth any of my precious time, hehhehe =P I google a guy that I starting to know, L... To my absolute surprise, he turns out to be in some metal underground band, (I totally despise the rockband like-good attitude) he also have a very terlampau photos with a girl in his friendster profile and furthermore,he seems like someone that is so full of himself... Thank god, I knew it early, fuh~ I almost fooled by his good manners...

I also google a cute guy that I have met recently, A... I knew something is not right about him from the very start, (my intuition is almost, always right =P) because he rather email me than sms... It's weird because most men I knew prefer message-ing/call-ing than email-ing... and he only contact me through his office email, which grew weirder and weirder...
As suggested by my bff, it could be because he is hiding something... I am of course, itching to know the truth...

So, I start google-ing his full name and the search doesn't come up with anything... I tried to think outside the box and google his father name only and get his brother friendster account... And fortunately, I get to know his account as well... But of course, the suspense doesn't stop there, his account is apparently private... We spies, never give up on hope so I tried searching using his profile name at myspace website and walla, I finally get to know the other side of him... He's actually a model wannabe, living luxuriously at an elite neighbourhood, used to posed in a very demeaning local magazine, (I'm not gonna mention the magazine name, eww~) and his pics more or less suggesting that he's so gay... what the **** is happening to this world? I rest my case...

I knew vain men is shallow and can pretty much accept it if that's the problem here but this completely caught me off guard~ I don't know what to say anymore... I can't help but be thankful again to the technology for saving me from more awkward and embarrasing situation... At least now, I feel a little in control because I have the upper hand... Internet is the greatest invention ever, hehhhe ^_^ And to be more fair, I tried to google my name as well, and ****, I found my balance unpaid college loan, argghhh,
I hated the technology again T_T So guys, the moral of the story here is don't search and look for the truth if you know you can't handle them... ^_^

Cleaning up my closet...

I spend my weekend very productively today by rearranging my room and reorganizing all my stuff ^_^ This actually used to be my favorite pass time activity before I'm in my current blogger mode, hehhhe =P I also found lot of stuff, books and magz that I intend to let go...
