Casting The Blue Spells with Herbivore Botanicals Lapis Facial Oil

Hello again lovelies, I'm here with a beauty review to make up for the lost time. It's one of my favorite skincare find; the Herbivore Botanicals Lapis Facial Oil. As some of you might recall, I have a combination oily skin that has the tendency to be unpredictable. I desperately need something that can balance it out to make it more manageable. I came across the Lapis Facial Oil when I did my research on skin balancing and the dreamy shade of blue definitely caught my attention. I decided to give it a try despite my reservation towards anything oily and I'm so glad I did!

According to their website, Lapis Facial Oil is named for the precious blue oil it contains, Blue Tansy. This oil holds a components called Azulene which aids in soothing dry irritated skin, reducing the appearance of redness and balancing skin. It's also infuse with Kukut Nut Oil to help nourishment at a deep level, Jojoba Oil which is an incredible natural moisturizer and Squalane that act as a light protective barrier to lock moisture into the skin and protect the skin against the appearance of hyperpigmentation and premature aging.

It's specifically formulated for combination, oily and blemish prone skin with concentrated oil to provide your skin with long-lasting and effective hydration. Often times when we over-wash our skin and do not moisturize thoroughly, it overcompensates by producing more oil and sebum leading to oilier skin and clogged pores. Lapis Facial Oil is made with truly natural plant oils that will thoroughly hydrate your skin without clogging pores so that it can stop producing excess oil and find the balance it needs. In short, yes, oily skin needs moisture too and is often dehydrated, leading to dry patches and the overcompensation of oil and sebum.

To use, simply apply 4-6 drops of Lapis Blue Tansy Face Oil to cleansed and toned skin morning and night. Massage in and allow to absorb for 1-3 minutes before applying makeup. It's recommended by Herbviore to use it with Blue Tansy Invisible Pores Resurfacing Clarity Mask and layer on top of Pink Cloud for added moisture. Since Herbivore products contain no synthetic ingredients (no dyes, no fragrances, and no synthetic preservatives), it needs to be store upright in a cool, dry place and out of direct sunlight.

Moving on to my personal thoughts on Herbivore Botanicals Lapis Facial Oil, first thing first is the packaging. It feels sturdy, luxurious and display the beautiful shade of blue perfectly. Can't help but loving how fancy it looks on my vanity! You can easily disperse the right amount of oil too with the dropper it comes with which is another plus for me. However, it's not suitable for travelling due to its size but you can always get the travel size instead if you're keen. The texture on the other hand is very lightweight and absorbs into my skin easily. I kind of like the fact that it make my skin feels completely moisturize throughout the day even in our hot and smoky weather.

I've been loving it so far and on my third bottle at the moment. Unfortunately, there are few things I  wish they could have done differently. The Lapis Facial Oil scent for example is quite intense and take me a while to get used to. It have a strong herbal fragrance which I believe might not be for everybody. Another thing to be considered is obviously the price. It's quite expensive compared to other facial oil in the market probably because of the truly natural ingredients but I still hope it could be slightly lower though. Luckily one bottle could last me around 4 months so I have the option to restock during Sephora's Beauty Pass Sale...

Other than that, I'm quite happy with my Herbivore Botanicals Lapis Facial Oil. I still get break out every now and then but it's more manageable and heals faster than before. I do have some doubt about facial oil initially but Lapis Facial Oil definitely change my mind. If you're interested to learn more about the product, head over to their official site listed below. Until then, have a wonderful long weekend lovelies and Salam Merdeka, adieu~
