Get The Picture with November Photo A Day Challenge...

It's so true that a picture worth a thousand words... People can interpret a picture differently from one another; see it from different perspective and view, and not to forget see the unseen little things that others might overlooked... Honestly, I'm not a very good photographer, I'm still working on it from day to day and knowing about the FatMumSlim "November Photo A Day Challenge" from my friend Yati really intrigued me to give it a shot (literally & figuratively =P) Let's take a look at it, shall we?

This is what its all about, every single day in November, we're required to take a picture that represent the theme of the day... Easy right? It's a very unique way of expressing yourself without a word (I did wrote a very long caption with every picture btw, I just can't help it, LOL) and I did my best to follow the theme each day =) And here's is what I come up with...

Day 1 - I finally bought my first beauty gadget; Clarisonic after eye-ing it for more than a decade year, thanks to Sephora 20% discount, coolness =)

Day 7 - I super love the combination of black + white + peach; this picture reflects how I feel perfectly n_n
Day 8 - I will feel so weird if I don't play Anipang in a day; thanks to Shinwa, now I'm addicted, haha =D
Day 9 - What's the better gift for all the mumtaz students than the small tafsir to guide them further in life? I'm helping out my mum to wrap the gifts she sponsored for my little sis school =)
Day 10 - I can live without a lot of things, but my specs will never be one of it XP

Day 11 - It's great to know even though I'm out & about from day to night, I still have this lovely studs by my side, wink2
Day 12 - Our fav drinks at our fav restaurant; Gummi Bear & Blue Lagoon =)
Day 13 - I am bless with the power that can make me easily fall asleep whenever & wherever I want too; my fav spot? It is always be in my homey car, hehe =P
Day 14 - This pond may be man-made; but the fish @ Ajlaa Village certainly don't mind, LOL
Day 15 - I have lots of stuff in my bag; purse + makeup + perfume + lotion + sanitizer + mp3player + handphone + keys; you'll never find any food though, hahaha =D

Day 16 - I really2 enjoy feeding the fish while day-dreaming from the Ajlaa Village window, it's the time to get in touch with the nature =)
Day 17 - The last thing I bought was this cheap ice-cream maker from Daiso; it's only 5 bucks ^_^
Day 18 - Spending the weekend preparing myself for the Twilight Saga finale by browsing back all the details from the books ^_^
Day 19 - It's awesome to know that I have a mini me in the making, we pout a lot & have the same name, hehe =P

I'm happy that it's over & can't wait to begin the new one, the new list is out already & hopefully I'll be more inspired this time around =)

I guess I'm still very young and dangerous at heart, wink2

Sweet 27...

I'm having a hard time to believe that I'm turning 27 this year, not because I'm afraid of getting older, but this year time flies so very fast, I can't keep up most of the time, and I barely had time to blog nowadays =( My birthday had passed almost 4 months ago, and I only managed to blog about it now, I hope I won't kill the suspense though, hehehe =P

I received lots of pressies this year, which surprised me a lot cause I didn't see most of it coming and I did indulge myself with something extra-special too for my 27th birthday, which you guys can read it in my upcoming post, wink2

Carrie Junior...

The Carrie Diaries by Candace Bushnell~ ^_^

One of the reason why I start blogging is because I'm inspired by Carrie Bradshaw from Sex and The City... I watched the series faithfully, never missed any single episodes @ HBO... Most people think it's quite vulgar to comprehend, but I think this show is really about relationship and friendship (fashion of course, wink2) not so much emphasize about sex as many people always assumed it was... and Carrie do have lots of interesting theories about men, hihihi x)

My favorite character actually is not Carrie, I love Samantha the most, I think she's so free and comfortable in her own skin, never afraid to speak her mind and always support her friend no matter what... Carrie seems a little too nice to my liking and trying so very hard for everyone to love her, but I do heart her style and shoes, without Carrie, I probably have no idea who is Manolo Blahnik or Oscar de la Renta, hehehe =P

Anyway, for Carrie fans out there, this book is pre-SATC, so it's quite mild and very teenager-ish but I don't think her fans would mind, it's fun in it's own way and a little surprising if we compared to her glamorous life in New York... I don't wanna spoil all the storyline here, so you can look for this book if you curious, it's a good beach read and kind of reminds me of my high school days, hehehe =P

Because You Worth It...

the worth every penny book, ^_^

One thing I love the most besides freebies is definitely discounts!!! And to get it in bulk and for various products and services certainly will make you feel like the luckiest person in Malaysia or in the world, hehehe =P I love books and shopping, and the combination of both obviously, so when I heard about the "Worthy Book", I felt very curious and an overwhelming need to have it!!! Thanks to Worthy Book and Miu2, I finally got my hands on it, yeahaa~ @_@.

Book-swarm...

my book haul - I'm lovin' it, ^_~

I only planned to grab couple of books @ BookXcess, Amcorp Mall today but the stock just arrived and lots of books definitely caught my attention... Anyway, this is my second visit to BookXcess, what I can say is, they really know how to impress bookaholic like yours truly, wink2... I love the extra touch like the free bookmark with every purchases and the 10% discount for card members... God know how stingy MPH and Kinokuniya can be, huh~

This time around, I bought a Sephora makeup guide book (for my friend upcoming bday) + 2 Madeleine Wickham books (also known as Sophie Kinsella) + Cupcakes recipe books (for a friend) + Creative Card Design book (for my little sis) + 2 Dorothy Koomson books (I've read her books review and curious to know whether her work could live up to my expectation,wink2) + Greg Iles - The Devil's Punchrowl (he's genius, one of the best in fact ^_^) + Jimi Hendrix biography (his more than a musician to me, he's legendary n_n) + Tess Gerritsen's thriller (for my sis) and last but not least, Marley & Me movie tie-in (it's a bargain I can't refuse, hee~)

I'm very very excited with my haul and can't wait to come again!!! Thank you sweetie for your treat, love u dear, muahssss ^_~

Books Haven...

book-a-licious ^_~

I know I should have study for my midterm exam instead of hanging out at bookstore and spending money again but shopping for books also considered as study in my dictionary, hehehe =P Anyway, I was introduced to BookXcess by a blogger friend, Kitty, thank q so much girl for the info and I've been stalking their facebook page eversince, hehehe =P

In case you guys didn't know or never heard of
BookXcess before, they are selling overprinted books with lots of discount around 50%-70% from the retail price!!! ^_^ But the stock is quite limited, it's on first come first serve basis, so you must be extremely alert and fast, wink2

Anyway, I went for my first BookXcess @ Amcorp Mall visit last Saturday, and OMG, I almost going crazy looking at all the books and the price tag!!! For the first time ever, I just took every books I want without even thinking, hehehe =P Thank god, everything is within my budget and I got more than I'm expecting, yeay!!! @_@

As you can see from the above pic, I managed to grabbed 3 Bobbi Brown's books (for my friend bday & for myself n_n) + DSLR guide book (for another of my friend bday ^_^) + American Classic Car - Ford Mustang history (for my bf - he's a big Mustang fan ^_~) + Natsuo Kirino's & Alice Sebold latest book + few chic lit + The Duchess movie tie-in =)

I absolutely love everything I bought & excited to stocking up again after my midterm, hehehe =P There are so much more books out there still waiting for me, wink2

[Giveaway] Girl Interrupted...

I heart the book covers, it's love at first sight @_@

I've been super duper busy this couple of months and will getting busier and busier possibly till Raya, so I hardly have time to blog in peace anymore... but I'll try to make an effort to entertain you guys, or at least to entertain myself with writing more post soon, hehe =P One of the things that keep me busy are The Stieg Larsson Millennium Trilogy Books...

These books are probably the best action series that I've came across since Robert Ludlum's Bourne and Harlan Coben's Myron Bolitar!!! I heard rumours that Hollywood will adapt the books into movie franchise soon!!! Cool isn't it??? =) It's actually written in Swedish by Stieg Larsson as his part time hobby but his books only published and became phenomenon all over the world after he was dead, poor guy =(

The story revolves around the heroin character , Lisbeth Salender who is a genius hacker that had a very dark and complicated past... She's a tough woman who trying very hard to find her own peace but unfortunately her demons still can't leave her alone after all these years... She's holding the secret to Swedish government conspiracy and suddenly everyone is against her except a fearless journalist, Mikael Bloomvist...

The only actress who I can imagine playing her character is definitely Angelina Jolie (part of it because of her Lara Croft alter ego and the other half because it's remind me of her earlier movie Hacker back in 1995, hehehe =P)It'll be anti-climax if I reveal all the storyline here so I'll keep my mouth and finger shut and let you guys figure it out yourself, wink2...

One thing I can say, if you are a fan of conspiracy theory/ thriller/ mystery, you gonna love this series... It keep me up all night for days but it's really2 worth it!!! I personally love the second book, I think it's full of action and drama unlike most of thriller/mystery books today that lacked all the element of surprise and twist...

p.s : I have extra copy of the first and second book in this series guys/girls, I'll giving it out for free for one lucky reader... Just leave your comment here if you are interested before July 24th 2010 and I'll randomly select the winner later on... Till then, good luck everyone & have fun!!! ^_~

In my book...

I heart books n_n

In case you guys wondering what I've been up to lately in order to de-stressed and distracted myself from all the chaos around me, well it's none other than cuddling up with my latest haul... I just finished reading the last one and I couldn't have been more inspired...

When it comes to books, I definitely have a very2 high expectation, my sis hate that I somehow always managed to tear down her favorite books to pieces with my harsh criticism... Of course when you forked out almost 40 bucks for each of them, you are entitled to have unreasonable demand, rite??? hehehe
=P I don't want to bore you guys with my lengthy review, so I'll make it very2 short and sweet, okay ^_^

The Host - Stephanie Meyer

The beginning of the story doesn't really make any sense to me, it's too much and unnecessary but once you get over it, everything started to fall into places and you can't help admiring Wanderer's pure soul... Coming from the author of Twilight's Saga, this is something totally different than what she used to do but it's definitely worth your time and money... It's not your typical science-fiction, but it is written with so much heart and love... You'll cry a lot, I can promise you that !!!

The Lucky One - Nicholas Sparks

It's way better than his previous book, The Choice but still can't top his other works such as The Rescue, Dear John and Message in the Bottle... I didn't really expect much from Sparks lately, he do have the tendency to repeating the same storyline over and over again but this is a good start if you're new to his books... I always recommended The Rescue instead of The Notebook to everyone because I think the movie is more heartwrenching than the book itself, huhu~

What I Did For Love - Susan Elizabeth Phillips

I always love her books, she really2 got the talent to make people laughing their ass off and also touch them all in the right places... You might recognized the Brad-Angelina-Jennifer situation here, and she makes us see the truth behind all the Hollywood pretense and drama that we always overlook when we read the gossip section everyday in the newspaper. I heart this book very2 much @_@

Twenties Girl - Sophie Kinsella

If you're familiar with her books, this one is not quite the same, pretty slow and ridiculous in the beginning but as the story progressing, you'll start to love the story and rooting for Lara, the heroine and her guardian angel, Sadie... You might see Monalisa in totally different light after reading this book, hehehe =P

Love The One You're With - Emily Giffin

This is obviously not her best work, but not that bad either... This is something I had experienced myself, and I'm not really proud to say this but I always getting caught up in my past relationship and never really appreciate what I got until it's gone... Apparently, I'm not the only one who used to felt that way, the heroine herself is in the same situation and she's not really handling it well... Quite deep for chic-lit I must say, but a good read nevertheless...

p.s : most of this books are on sales this Valentine, grab it if you're feeling like you're in lovey dovey mood, wink2 ^_~

Conspiracy theory...

mcdreamy

 VS

mcsteamy

I know most of you out there will probably feel like throwing up reading anything about vampires and werewolves already but I think I need to post about this to get it out of my system, hehhee =P Most of my guy friends were wondering what do all the girls see in these 2 men??? Why they are soooo obsessed with Edward Cullen and not Jacob Black??? I'm gonna tell you why...

I might not be right and fair about this but I've come up with another theory which is quite similar to my previous theory in this post The same rules applies here, Edward represent someone solid, faithful, intense, and quiet just like Liverpool fans, meanwhile Jacob represent someone daring, bad tempered, loud and fun just like Manchester Utd fans... (you are allowed to puke now, hahaha =D)

Of course given the choices, most of the ladies will pick the most stable one right??? But they can't really shake away their attraction to the dangerous one... Which one I'll choose for myself???
ahha, it's for me to know and for you to find out, wink2 ^_~

p.s : I just wish I can have them both, hehee @_@

Time traveler's wife...

 I heart Rachel McAdam's & Eric Bana, ^_^

Although I never admit it, I'm actually hopeless romantic at heart, I love romantic movie especially when it's about the unrequited love... The sappier the movie, the more I love it... I love to cry over a movie especially if the hero is gorgeous, hahaha =D

Anyway, I'm very2 excited to watch this movie since it's one of my all time favorite book n_n If you already read it, you'll know why I said so, wink2
I dont want to ruin all the suspens by giving blow by blow details here, maybe after I watch it, I'll do a little comparison of the book & the movie for you guys, @_@

Some of you may not really into reading, so if you're looking for a heart wrenching romance, go book your ticket now with your love one this weekend... If this movie adapted the novel perfectly, I'm sure all of you guys won't regret it... I can't hardly wait to watch it myself, with lots of tissue of course, hehhehe =P

Sister act...

It's been a while since my last visit to Times Square, one of my favorite hang out places in KL. Lately, I seem to spend almost every weekend at KLCC, hehhe =P So this weekend, I wanna do it differently... Because we haven't ate any breakfast yet this morning, I drag my sis to the Papa John's which I heard before but never have the opportunity to try... It's pretty similar with Pizza Hut but with cooler ambiance and services... The food are quite nice and the price are very reasonable too... But sadly they didn't served lasagna here, sob2 T-T

Very cosy and spacious ^_^

Our starving pose n_n

Can you believe the 2 of us actually finished all this??? heehee =D

We also tried out some gelatos at Gelato Fruity's booth, but of course its far cry from Italian's gelato... For those who are not familiar with gelato, it's pretty much like ice cream but they using fresh fruit and often does not contain eggs in the ingredient. The variety of flavor offered here however won't make you felt disappointed... I love how colorful the display is, looking at it alone can make my mouth water, hehehhe =P

Yummy and tasty @_@

Of course our trip to Times Square won't be completed without visiting Borders, where I can make myself at home. Both of us are bookaholics but due to budget restrain can't afford to buy all the books we want =( After deliberating and intense discussion, we both agreed to buy the latest Harlan Coben's book - Long Lost since we are Coben's die-hard fans!!! Other books can definitely wait ^_~

Looking for the best book to spend my almost finish salary on =D

I also get a birthday gift for my bff @ Metrojaya but I can't exactly reveal what I got for her here because it won't be so surprise anymore, right??? wink2 ^_~ I can't wait for my next payday, huhu~ So many temptation, so little money to spend, sob2 T-T
