A Blush Crush with Les Merveilleuses Laduree Cream Cheek Base in 04

I've been meaning to write about this blush crush of mine ages ago but I can't really bring myself to use it until recently because it's so amazingly pretty, standing proudly on my vanity all in perfect beauty and glory... It's actually my last year birthday gift from my dear friend Caroline which she bought from Japan, thank you again sweetie for this lovely gift =) If you're wondering why the brand name is so familiar, yes it's from the very same luxurious bakery and sweet maker house that best known for their delicious and alluring range of macarons. I believe any dessert lovers must have heard of Laduree, right? Just like their patisserie enchanting decoration, the Parisian feel is quite evident in the cosmetics line as well, everything seems so chic and fashionable!

According to Laduree website, the collection; Les Merveilleuses is named after 'goddess of liberty' who lived in Paris after the revolution in the late 18th century. The young Parisian women in that era cast off the post revolution reign of terror and strict morals, aspiring freedom and liberation without losing their loyalty to France which is the essence of this cosmetics line that inspiring elegance across time, infinite means to express yourself combining universal. It's specially created for women who enjoy being women and who value something that enchants them not reasonably but intrinsically. Les Merveilleuses Laduree proposes unexpected beauty beyond the ordinary concept of cosmetics to women who pursue the new forms of beauty.

Without further ado, let's take the moment to admire the sheer beauty of the packaging it comes with. The Les Merveilleuses Laduree Cream Cheek Base lush pink box is adorned with lovely flower prints and gold detailing, a beautiful keepsake on its own. The blush case itself looks very much like an antique jewellery case in gold and white. It's embossed with the image of 'goddess of liberty' on the clasp and floral motives around it. I would definitely give them A+++ for the packaging, it's pretty enough to lure any makeup lover (or not) to get their hands on it or at least lust over it since it's quite expensive and very hard to get here in Malaysia, sigh~

The texture on the other hand is creamy just like the name suggested, but not as creamy as I thought it would be on my combination/oily skin. It takes a while to get used to it, most of the time I choose to apply it with brush instead of applying it directly which proved to be a better way in my case. The shades that I have can be described as bubblegum pink, which I think will compliment every skin tones and since it's very pigmented, I normally use a lighter hand and build up the intensity according to the looks I'm going for. I love the fact that the color last more than 4 hours on me, which is not always the result I'm getting with cream blusher and the scent, I don't know how to explain it, it's powdery but not overwhelming at all and surprisingly can be calming too!

I have nothing but love for the Les Merveilleuses Laduree Cream Cheek Base and yes, I do wish I can have all the shades in my collection. Unfortunately Laduree Cosmetics is not available here in Malaysia and from what I've seen on Ebay, it's not that cheap though... If you're happened to visit Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong or France, you can get it directly from their outlets and don't forget to taste their famous macarons and pastries too. For more information and details, do visit Laduree official site below and until then, Happy Monday lovelies, adieu~
