Love + Angel + Music + Baby with UD x Gwen Stefani Eyeshadow Palette

I grow up listening to her music and have always be a fan of her unique personality. Not very much with her love life recently but whenever I think of Gwen Stefani, there are more than one colors that'll come to mind. Judging by her sense of style, I knew it'll be a matter of time before she came up with her own cosmetic line and of course she collaborate with Urban Decay no less, that was like match made in heaven! The limited edition collection consist of an eyeshadow palette, a blush palette, lipsticks, lip pencil and a brow box. Not everything is available here in Malaysia unfortunately thankfully I got the eyeshadow palette as birthday gift from my lovely friend, Illy couple of months ago so basically yes, I'm one happy bunny! Thank you love ❤_

Back to the collaboration, it's curated in a true creative partnership between the rock goddess, Gwen Stefani herself and the co-founder of Urban Decay, Wende Zomnir's team to bring you all the weapons needed to recreate her iconic look. Everything from the one of a kind packaging to the beautiful shades were carefully chosen and formulated with Urban Decay's Pigment Infusion System, the proprietary blend of ingredient that gives every shade it's velvety texture, rich color, serious staying power and blendability. If you're a huge fan of No Doubt or Gwen Stefani, you'll probably noticed that all the shades name were inspired by her songs! No Don't Speak or Hollaback Girl can be found though, that'll make an even interesting name I guess...

UD Gwen Stefani Eyeshadow Palette contains 15 x 0.04 oz eye shadow in Blonde (pale beige/pink iridescent shift), Bathwater (pale beige with gold pearl), Skimp (pale nude satin), Steady (medium rose/metallic gold shift), Punk (reddish brown matte), Baby (cool metallic rose), Anaheim (light taupe-brown matte), Stark (nude-pink matte), Zone (medium brown matte), Serious (smoky gray with iridescent floating pearl), Pop (pale coral with iridescent sparkle), Harajuku (metallic blue-pink/iridescent micro-shimmer), Danger (deep metallic royal blue/blue micro-sparkle), 1987 (bright metallic yellow-gold) and Blackout (blackest black matte).

Let's talk about what I love about this palette first. I'm deeply in love white the black and white graphic and the little gold details on the case. It represents Gwen Stefani uniqueness successfully and gave the luxurious feels to the whole palette too. I also love that they combine warm neutral wearable shades with a few jewel tones to the line up. It's very much like another version of Naked palette with additional pop of colors. The texture for all the shades are very soft and buttery, it blends perfectly well together too just like I imagined it would be. And yes, there are fair share of matte and shimmer finish in this palette, another plus point for me!

Moving on to what I dislike, the colors are not as pigmented as it claimed and will only show up on fair to medium skin tone. I need to build up the intensity to make it visible on my eyes and some of the shades like Baby and Pop even look identical to one another which make it hard to differentiate. I'm a little bit surprise at first because I was expecting a palette fulls of bold shades to be honest but come to think of it, Gwen Stefani never really let the attention focus on her eye makeup before which pretty much explain her safe color choices. The striking shades like Danger1987 and Blackout didn't disappoint though, I like mixing it with the lighter shades to create smokey eyes and compliment it with nude lipstick whenever the mood strikes me.

★★★★☆

All in all, I would say this palette is a great investment if you heart Gwen Stefani and happened to have porcelain skin like hers. You'll get 15 almost full size shades with great staying power that comes in this sleek, gorgeous packaging, what more can you asked for right? This is not however designed for darker skin women in mind. Even if you can work the lighter shade for highlighting, I got a feeling you're going to need more than a swatch to do that. Other than that, I really love this palette, I can see Gwen Stefani all over it (not literally obviously) and since it's a gift from my best friend, I can't help but loving it even more! For more details, do check out their official sites listed below and until then, have a wonderful day ahead lovelies, adieu~
