Just like their previous celebrity collaboration, L'oreal Paris came up with another star studded collection; La Vie En Rose that's inspired by their beautiful brand ambassadors from Eva Longoria, Aishwarya Rai, Blake Lively, Jennifer Lopez, Barbara Palvin, Chompoo Araya, Douzten Kroes, Noami Watts and also Liya Kebede. Featuring 9 different pink hues specially formulated from micro mother of pearls and velvety pigments, there's a pink for everybody or in my case there are 3; Rosemary, Fuschia and Rose Lotus that caught my attention!
La Vie En Rose phrase is actually taken from a classic French song sang by Edith Piaf which means Life In Pink and for this campaign, you can see John Legend serenade the L'oreal stars with his rendition of the song complete with piano and all in this video here. Promising a sophisticated sheer powdery matte finish, all the pink shades were precisely composed exclusively by L'oreal Paris color designer; Eva Yean to offer a subtle and delicate match that compliment women from various skin tone, ethnicity and race.
Okay to be honest, I want to get my hands on all 9 of them! I can be such a hoarder when it comes to lipsticks and always fall over and over again for pretty packaging. I like the idea of their classic black tube with a little window displaying the shades, it'll make my life so much easier if other brands follow suit as well. You can also see the celebrities signature on the lipstick cap, a sweet little touch for their fans. Did I mention that you'll get a pink rose passport holder with every purchase of L'oreal Paris La Vie En Rose lipstick at Hermo, Malaysia?
That's not the reason why I purchase these lipsticks obviously. I was given Rosemary - Barbara Palvin for review and in love with the sheer matte finish it gave and get myself another 2 in Fuschia - Liya Kebede and Rose Lotus - Jennifer Lopez. The consistency is surprisingly creamy and not drying at all like I initially thought and lasts for about 3 - 4 hours on me if there's no eating and drinking involve. I can't trace any scent from the lipstick so I guess it's pretty safe to conclude that it's fragrance free in my book. The shades however is not really pigmented but afraid not, you can build up the intensity according to your preference.
In terms of shades, Rosemary can be describe as barbie pink, not very flattering on medium skin tone but will looks beautiful if you create the ombre lips with it. Fuschia on the other hand is a bright pink fuschia shade that without a doubt will make you the center of attention in a good kind of way. Meanwhile Rose Lotus seems to look like a deep purple pink shade but it turns out to be more like a berry pink instead of purple. It's my favorite among these 3 probably because I can feel the Jennifer Lopez aura whenever I'm wearing it, lol
