I've been meaning to post about this amazing highlighter for ages but there's always something distracting me from getting it done... This is actually my very first product from Becca Cosmetics, if it wasn't because of my dear friend Caroline gave it to me I don't think I'll ever come close of getting myself any, hehe =P Thank you so much babe for knowing what I need even before I need it, love you, muahssss ^_^ Becca Cosmectics is not available in Malaysia before which is really why I didn't feel like getting my hands on any of their stuff but hey, you can purchase them now at Sephora Malaysia, yeay!!! Good things are meant to be shared so yes, I'm gonna share with you reasons and reasons why every girls need to have this in their purse =)
For Becca Cosmetics virgin out there, they are widely known in the beauty-sphre for their gorgeous range of highlighters. Their most sought after highlighter, Champagne Pop not only sold out everywhere, it's also breaking Sephora record as the most purchased product on the first day of it's release!!! The truth is, Jaclyn Hill is probably the main contributor for it's huge popularity and since I didn't get the opportunity to try it out yet, I'll just just focus on what I have right now which is the Glow On The Go - Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector box set. It's a miniature version of their Shimmering Skin Perfector in Opal, specially made for the holiday season last year. Comes in two different version; Spotlight (liquid) and Pressed (powder), there's no reason for you not to get your glow while on the go anymore, wink2
Let's begin with Shimmering Skin Perfector in Opal - Spotlight first, shall we? According to the label, it's created to define and highlight your feature with it's ultra-fine light-reflecting pearls that melt into your skin for polished, natural looking radiance. Water light and sheer, the shade can be easily adjusts in any light to make your refined glow never lost. For someone who's not into highlighting like myself, this baby really change my perception towards highlighting in general. True to it's claim, the Shimmering Skin Perfector in Opal - Spotlight is lightweight and blends like a dream.
The texture on the other hand is somewhere in the middle, neither too thick nor too runny, just perfect for a liquid highlighter. The shade is seriously to die for, I can vouch that it'll look beautiful on almost every skin tone and unlike most of the highlighters that I came across before, this one is very wearable and gives you a dewy, not too shimmery kind of glow which you can build up accordingly. Compared to the powder form, it last a little bit longer on me and a lot more intense on the skin. A little goes a long way, just dot it on the area you want to and blends it with your finger or favourite brush.
Not as pigmented as Shimmering Skin Perfector in Opal - Spotlight, Shimmering Skin Perfector in Opal - Pressed is not that bad either. This soft and creamy golden champagne luminizing powder veils skin in a soft pearled glow with a lustrous velvet finish to give you a subtle candlelight glow. It's very convenient to travel with just like the liquid version and yes, it's so easy to use as well. Just sweep it across your face or apply it to targeted areas like cheekbones, brow bones or bridge of nose for an instant dewy look. The scent is similar with Shimmering Skin Perfector in Opal - Spotlight but the colour pay off is not as pronounced.
If I have to choose between these two, I would go with Shimmering Skin Perfector in Opal - Pressed in a heartbeat since it's a bit on the natural side and layering it up is quite fun too. It doesn't left lots of residue and easier to control if that's your concern which made me love bringing it along everywhere I go. The only thing that I dislike about it is how it can emphasize my pores size if I apply it with a heavy hand so go with less and layer up softly if you want more definition and glow. Other than that, it's truly a gem that I can see myself repurchase over and over again. Did I mention that it looks good on camera too?
Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Opal - Glow On The Go
I'm not sure whether this kit Glow On The Go - Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector is still available and on sale but if you can't find any, you can try it out at Sephora outlet first and get the full size later. Now that I had tried Opal, I'm so curious about their other range especially Champagne Pop and wonders whether it live up to its claim and rave. Mmmmm, perhaps next time when I feel like splurging or when someone kind enough will send it to me, hehe =P (hint2) For more information and details, you can check out their official site below and until my next entry, don't ever let someone dull your glow lovelies, adieu~
