Did you heard about the 2016 Powerman Asia Duathlon Asia Championship that will take place in Putrajaya next week? After 2 years hiatus, Powerman Asia Duathlons Championship is making a comeback with over 3,000 participants from over 35 nations!!! If you're unsure what Powerman is all about, it's actually the premier label for long distance duathlons that unites the biggest and most well known long distance duathlons in the world under the International Powerman Assocition (IPA). It's cooperate with International Triathlon Union to develop and grow duathlons as a sport in general, and long distance duathlon in particular.
And this time around, top ranked Powerman duathletes; Emma Pooley from England and Gaƫl Le Bellec from France will be among the popular athletes that participate in this race so if you're in the neighbourhood, you can catch a glimpse (or maybe more) of them up close =) Their participations will definitely challenge the other duathletes physically and mentally, not only that they will inspire them to improve their game, break their bests and surpass their individual limits as well which is what Powerman concept really about.
Reigning one of the top spots for Women’s Powerman World Ranking, Emma Pooley boasts an impressive race career. The English sportswoman clinched the silver medal at the 2008 Beijing Olympics for the Women’s Road Time Trial category and emerged champion at the 2010 UCI Road World Championships – Women’s Time Trial. She also won the 2014 & 2015 Powerman Long Distance Duathlon World Championships in Zofingen, Switzerland, setting a new course record on her first attempt in 2014.
The Men’s Powerman World Champion, Frenchman GaĆ«l Le Bellec on the other hand, emerged as the champion at the 2014 & 2015 Zofingen ITU Powerman Long Distance Duathlon World Championships, a 10km – 150km – 30km run-cycle-run by completing the race in just 6:20:36.
